Negotiate land purchase for Chinchero airport

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Bruno Giuffra Monteverde, arrived yesterday at the district of Chinchero (Urubamba) and opened the dialogue with the peasant communities on the project of the international airport.
Giuffra initiated the direct deal with the rural community of Yanacona to concretize the sale of their lands for the construction of the access and part of the air terminal.
The minister received from the hands of the president of Yanacona, Fredy Inquiltupa Auccapuma, an official notice in which said community agreed, at a general assembly held last Monday, to initiate the “frank and direct” dialogue with the sector to agree on the cost of the ground.
The Yanacona community has 95.66 hectares (ha) that will be used to build the international airport as well as the buffer zone.
They hope to reach an agreement on the cost of the square meter. It must be remembered that at the end of last year the peasant community Ayllopongo agreed with the MTC to sell 11.49 hectares for the same purpose for S / 14 million 640 thousand 598. That money has already been paid.
Meanwhile, negotiation with the Raqchi Ayllu community that has 35.20 hectares in its possession is pending. It is the third rural community with which they must initiate negotiations for the purchase of the lands.
